Over the past two years, we have grown significantly as we’ve added new staff to expand our reach and impact. As a result, our accounting needs have grown, and we therefore are looking to hire a half-time accounting assistant to help our finance team get its work done.

This position reports to the Director of Finance and Administration (DFA) and works closely with the staff accountant.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in preparation of preparing backup information for monthly journal entries
  • Assisting in preparation of schedules for audit, budget, taxes
  • Assisting as needed to enter information for some restricted project in Salesforce
  • Preparing monthly reconciliations between fundraising reports in Salesforce and finance reports in QuickBooks
  • Assisting the DFA with preparations of quarterly reports for the Budget and Finance Committee and the Board
  • Assisting DFA in applying/initiating necessary registrations with various states and authorities for out-of-state employees
  • Assisting with implementing projects/software as needed to remove work from DFA and staff accountant
  • Keeping paper files organized and filed and transfer others to cloud
  • Managing various other new accounting and personnel projects as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years related experience or an equivalent combination in accounting/finance
  • Understanding of general ledger
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and QuickBooks
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Non-profit accounting experience is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
