“Call JCRC!” is a refrain we hear multiple times each week coming from our community. If you’ve personally urged such action, thank you for your trust in JCRC to help resolve sensitive and complex community issues.

Occasionally, the issues we handle can be resolved with as little as a single well-placed call. Frequently, however, it takes weeks of advocacy, strategic communications, and grassroots activism. While the work we do is often behind the scenes, the steps we take to resolve issues ensure the Bay Area remains a hospitable environment for our community. Recently, for example:

A student on a Bay Area campus needed a speaker to balance out anti-Israel lectures and was encouraged to “call JCRC.”

A community activist learned that a Berkeley city commission, which focuses on alleviating local poverty, was considering a divest-from-Israel proposal. She knew to “call JCRC,” and that we would effectively mobilize the community – leading to a resounding defeat of the resolution.

A Jewish communal professional with a sensitive church/state matter involving a Jewish institution sought our advice. She “called JCRC” because she knew we would help come up with a creative solution that would satisfy all parties involved.

An elected official needed confidential guidance on how a particular position he would take would affect the Jewish community. “Call JCRC!” he told his chief of staff, knowing that JCRC’s guidance would give him an accurate, timely, and nuanced understanding of our community.

People “call JCRC” because of our reputation for swift response, effective strategizing, and nuanced activism. We get the job done. We also truly appreciate the trust placed in us by the Jewish and broader community, and the spirit of true partnership we enjoy with the Jewish Federations, synagogues, day schools, JCCs, Hillels, social service agencies and other Bay Area Jewish institutions.

In a world where community challenges emerge quickly, JCRC must always be ready and poised to effectively respond to the inevitable next call. JCRC’s critical work is possible only with the support of donors like you. Now we ask you to respond to JCRC’s call: Please Support Our Work.

Thank you for your consideration and to those of you who have already contributed to this year’s campaign!
