Intercommunal Coalition Building
For decades, JCRC has led the Bay Area Jewish community to create and strengthen coalitions, and to build bridges with other ethnic, civic and faith groups to advance a civil and just society. In recent years, we have worked in coalition on immigration, economic and racial justice, human trafficking, poverty and other policy matters.
A leading go-to Jewish organization for other ethnic, faith and emerging communities seeking Jewish partnership, we are also sought out by other faith clergy and civic leaders for counsel and input when they are navigating issues of relevance to the Jewish community. JCRC envisions a healthy, just and secure democratic society where communities collaborate to enhance the quality of life for all. We work toward this vision by engaging Jews in creative and impactful bridge-building initiatives that foster strong multi-cultural, multi-ethnic and multi-faith understanding and respect. Through this work, we promote positive social change and advance our common agendas.
The Peninsula Multifaith Coalition has been deeply blessed to receive support and guidance from the JCRC. [Its] staff helped us to become a resource for dialogue and service that reaches into nearly every faith community on the Peninsula. They are valued partners… and bring wisdom and experience to interfaith work. I cannot imagine achieving [our] goals without their constant and continued efforts. The JCRC has enriched our community and strengthened our bonds of understanding as we work together to do service in San Mateo County."
