Jewish Community Relations Councilof San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin, Sonoma, Alameda and Contra Costa Counties

Assistant Director of Development

The San Francisco-based Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) is embarking on a new strategic plan to address rising antisemitism and hate, delegitimization of Israel, widening racial and economic inequities, and a weakening of our democracy in the Bay Area and across our state. To help us accomplish our work, we are seeking a driven, skilled, and tactful professional to serve as our Assistant Director of Development.

It is an exciting time to join the development team at JCRC, as we are actively building our major gifts program, developing new and engaging ways to captivate new and existing donors, and building our pipeline for long term, growing support of our consequential mission.

In this Bay Area-based position, the Assistant Director will act as the “point of entry” for existing donors and prospects to JCRC. Through active listening, an ability to be proactive in connecting specific interests and needs of the donor(s) to our mission, and the skill set to solicit mid-level to major gifts, this individual will play a key part in building support for JCRC’s mission.

This individual will manage a portfolio of mid-level donors ($1,000-$10,000+) and prospects throughout the donor’s giving cycle, including solicitations. The Assistant Director will work closely with the Director of Development, key JCRC staff, and leaders of JCRC to stay up to date on our programs and how we are engaging within and beyond the Jewish community, and to find key ways to connect their portfolio with our newly implemented Strategic Plan.

We are looking for a professional with 3-5 years of fundraising and/or community engagement experience, an insatiable need to learn and develop skill sets as a fundraiser and ambassador for our mission, and an eagerness to grow within our organization.

The Assistant Director of Development is responsible for the identification, qualification, cultivation and solicitation of mid-level donors ($1,000-$10,000) and prospects through meetings, events, and other activities. He/she/they will

In addition to meaningful and rewarding work, JCRC provides a generous compensation and benefits package that includes medical, dental, life and long-term disability insurance, a 403(b) program with a discretionary organizational contribution, generous paid time off, an employee flexible spending health care and dependent (cafeteria) plan, pre-tax transit pass program, an employee-contributed vision insurance plan, early closure for Shabbat and Jewish holidays, days off for Jewish holy days that fall during the work week, and – most significantly – a collaborative and friendly work environment.
