2025 JCRC Bay Area Priority Bills

AB 49 (Muratsuchi, Gonzalez): Prevents school officials from permitting
immigration enforcement officers on school grounds without valid ID, a signed judicial warrant, and administrative approval. Limits access to areas where students are not present.

AB 419 (Connelly): Requires school districts to display the “Know Your
Educational Rights” guide related to immigration enforcement in all schools, administrative buildings, and online.

AB 715 (Zbur, Addis): Strengthens the response to antisemitism in K–12 schools by combating harmful content in the classroom through a state Antisemitism Coordinator, enhanced educator training, stronger enforcement, and greater district accountability.

AB 1025 (Pellerin): Allows a custodial parent or legal guardian to designate a standby guardian for their child through an affidavit, including the option to name an alternate in case the primary designee cannot serve.

SB 81 (Arreguin): Prohibits health care providers from allowing immigration
enforcement access to patients or nonpublic areas without a valid judicial
warrant. Requires training and clear procedures for staff.

SB 98 (Perez): Mandates that schools notify staff, students, and families if
immigration enforcement is confirmed on campus. Applies to K–12 and higher education institutions.

SB 472 (Stern): Establishes the Holocaust and Genocide Education Grant
Program Fund in the State Treasury to provide grants and professional
development for Holocaust and genocide education in schools.
