JCRC’s education initiative ensures fair and equitable treatment for Jewish—and all students—in our K-12 public schools. JCRC does this by investing in building relationships with district leadership that will lead to positive long-term outcomes for Jewish families. When antisemitism encroaches into educational spaces, JCRC acts, helping to create inclusive classrooms where Jewish students feel safe and accepted. We are active in 201 school districts, covering more than 2,500 schools (both public and private), and interacting with innumerable principals and teachers.
In JCRC’s parent initiative, we train, mobilize, and support parents to act as their child’s best advocate. JCRC also works individually with families and school districts to address challenging issues in the classroom, from biased or exclusionary curriculum about Jewish identity and Israel, to important school events being scheduled on major Jewish holidays.
