For over 20 years, the JCRC Bay Area Israel Seminars have brought more than 300 rising stars in government and civic leadership – people who often go on to become household names, like U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, California Governor Gavin Newsom, and San Francisco Mayor London Breed. On our trip, these community leaders and elected officials join a cohort of their fellows to travel and learn together in places like Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, the Golan Heights, and Ramallah, visiting crucial sites and meeting diverse Israeli and Palestinian officials and changemakers.
In 2016, when Rabbi Doug Kahn retired from his position as JCRC Executive Director after 34 years with the organization, JCRC Bay Area established The Doug Kahn Israel Outreach Travel Fund to ensure the continued success of these trips.
