Salary Range: $95,000-$105,000
Reports to: Director of Development

For over 75 years, JCRC Bay Area has served as the largest collective voice of Bay Area Jews, bringing together diverse Jewish communities with our neighbors to build a just society and a secure Jewish future.  To help us accomplish our work, we are seeking a driven, skilled, and tactful professional to serve as our Associate Director of Development.

This Bay Area-based position will primarily be focused in San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Alameda, and Contra Costa counties. Our flexible, hybrid office is a fast-paced, energetic, and dynamic environment that inspires collaboration and growth.

ROLE OVERVIEW

It is an exciting time to join the development team at JCRC Bay Area, as we are actively building our major gifts program, developing fresh and engaging ways to activate new and existing donors, and developing our pipeline for the long term, growing support of our vital mission and growing public profile.

The Associate Director of Development is responsible for the identification, qualification, cultivation and solicitation of mid-level donors ($1,000-$10,000) and prospects in the East Bay and South Bay regions of the Bay Area. This range will primarily include San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Alameda, and Contra Costa counties.

The Associate Director will serve as a relationship builder and solicitor for both existing donors and prospects. Through active listening, an ability to be proactive in connecting specific interests and needs of the donor(s) to our mission, and the skill set to solicit four and five-figure annual gifts, this individual will play a key part in building support for JCRC’s mission.

This position will also support Bay Area Jewish Action (BAJA), our recently launched 501c4 sister-organization, in addition to JCRC Bay Area (a 501c3 nonprofit). Established in 2024, BAJA is a political advocacy and lobbying organization inspiring, mobilizing and uplifting Jewish political involvement in the Bay Area. The Associate Director will make blended asks in support of both JCRC and BAJA.

The successful candidate will be someone who can manage a portfolio of mid-level donors ($1,000-$10,000+) and prospects throughout the annual giving cycle, including solicitations. Working closely with the Director of Development, key JCRC staff, Board and development committee members, and community leaders of JCRC, the Associate Director will stay up to date on our programs and how we are engaging within and beyond the Jewish community, and also find key ways to connect their portfolio with our rapidly expanding scope and demand of our work.

We are looking for a professional with 3-5 years of fundraising and/or community engagement experience, a passion to learn and develop skill sets as a fundraiser and ambassador for our mission, and an eagerness to grow within our organization.
